We are not on the 2008 but the way I understood it the wires in a MW circuit only had to be grouped when the entered the panel. In a cable that is it, if they were coming in via a raceway, perhaps with other circuits you would need to group them. At least that is the way I understood it. I still like the idea of bundling the hots all the way to the breaker tho.
