Hi guys, another 7" of snow falling now, so some down time here (I got the blues!)

Anyway......
Looked at a job the other day,1820s' house.Need some new stuff to the 2nd floor.
There is an abandoned chimney available, Knocked down below the roof.It is sured up in the basement on a solid base of 6X6s'.
My thought is to drill in the 6x6s' to access the void, pull the NM up and secure in the attic (appropriate strain rlf etc). Fire stop the hole and carry on as normal.

I see no issues, just looking for confirmation here.

I don't see any issues either. You actually are lucky to have that opening for the conductors. The only thing I would add is straping or supporting. I guess they could hang straight down with NM connectors supporting them at the top?
How about a large diameter PVC conduit strapped to the interior of the cavity. Covers any physical damage possibility.
