Common sense prevailed and I got a GFCI on this one. It was clearly "outdoors" and that triggered the 210.8 violation.
It was interesting that the AHJ totally missed it ... but I think it was a "drive by" inspection. Amazing when permits are down by about 70% from last year.
When you tell the HOA about the 2 dead kids from the ROP they will start paying a little attention. To make matters worse this machine was connected with an old cord they had in the shop. MISSING A GROUND PIN!!!
I saw that while they were replacing the receptacle.
We got a new HD cord set and cord connector.
Inspectors don't scare them but talking about lawyers will dampen their scivvies.

Having real building people in this HOA business is probably a good thing.
