This is an amazingly tacky old 1982 advert for Cook Electric, it was run by both ESB (Republic of Ireland) and NIE (Northern Ireland Electricity) to promote electric cooking in the early 1980s.

That was rather scary, to think we actually watched things like that on TV in the 80's and thought nothing of it.
BTW, I can't help but think that the 80's must have been much colder than later decades, everyone had so much more hair on their heads back then! grin
