Ray,
Is that pole the end of the circuit?.
It's just that there is a huge bush right in the way behind where the lines would be if they carried on past the pole.
Sven,
Bear in mind anyone working from a bucket truck should be wearing insulated gloves and outers......
I find one thing rather disconcerting about the first pic Ray, in that the pole is far too close to the road, all that room to the left and they stick the pole there??.
Having a pole that close to the road is just inviting some clown to side-swipe it, bringing the 11kV lines down on to the streetlight, at least the fusing will operate quickly. sick
I really can't see what the person who sleeved them 400V wires with conduit is trying to achieve, they are already insulated to full working voltage anyway, this just looks really shoddy and un-workmanlike.

Looking at the other pics Raymond linked to, especially "dsc02591" (the third one) the lines are not actually touching the luminare. smile

But, in any event, it is indeed not too smart of an installation, and I agree with Mike that is is shoddy looking.

Pictures do speak a thousand words..and in this case, most of them can't be repeated here since this is a PG forum. smile

Mike, maybe it's so that the insulation won't rub off the conductors if the wind rubs 'em against that streetlight.

The wires are clashing onto the SL head when the wind blows.
They are rated for full working voltage, but will wear eventually through.

Mike The 11 kV goes underground to allowe for a roadcrossing.

We have brought dis dangerous situation to the asset owners (Vector) attention.
