I've finally had time to start displaying some of the pictures we've collected. This first group were supplied by Joe Tedesco. I'm still experimenting with different formats, but I'd like you to take a look and let me know what you think. If you've got any recollections or information about anything you see there please share them with us. https://www.electrical-contractor.net/Nostalgia/Catalog1-S.htm Bill

Just a short question. Who invented the incandescent light bulb? Key thing here, it was not Edison.

Tesla's and Latimer's estates should start a campaign to drag Edison's name through the mud as much as possible!
Is their anything the man actualy did on his own, or did he steal everything?
Boy this ticks me off!!!
On the original intent of the thread:
Cool! I'll try to gather stuff to submit!

Edison brought different inventions together and managed to design a working system. Without him, we would have had to wait a few more years to get electric light out of the labs. Indeed, there were a few working light bulbs before Edison's (e.g. the british Swan bulbs) but none was commercially available.
People look to much to the inventor and too little to the entrepreneur. Inventing is the easy part. Taking the invention to the market is the hard part.

Do you know who invented the metal filament bulb? Hint: He was from Europe.
