I recently finished a large contract. The owner threatened not to pay. The work was beautiful, but I guess I didn't offer enough free extras.

I went on the internet to get information on collection agencies. The idea of someone calling this guy day & night sounded good. However, when I received the contract from the collection agency it looked like they'd be getting all the money. In the end I would have tried to collect through my lawyer.

Anyway, the customer got legal advice, asked for a Final Waiver of Lien and gave me a certified check.

Always always always lean first, and make damn sure you file your notices on time.
