I usually tell my clients that the parts they're supplying don't cost very much & that I won't provide a warranty on anything that I don't supply. That's usually the end of the conversation.

When they consider switches and outlets at less than $1 each, the warranty can be seen as much more valuable.

This is one time that flat rate pricing will save negotiations. With switches & outlets the materials are less than 10% of the installed price. It's not worth their effort to buy materials.
