The reason I mentioned chain saws is that is the only way i found to speed up cutting in the boxes. you have to be careful making a plunge cut with a chain saw. It can be done and is a lot faster than chisels. But if you are not very careful and/or do not have very steady and strong hands it is a dangerous way to cut in the boxes. You need a small chain saw with the chain kept sharp.
Like I said never again. Drilling thru all that wood and cutting in the boxes was a severe pain in the rear and even double the price of a new house was still 75% too short.

The builder I dealt with did not drill for anyone, his attitude was that drilling is part of your job. He was also in a hurry to get the job done so you call in extra people and work overtime. After that one that builder did not get another bid and log homes are off my list of things to do.
