What do you make of 800.156?
16-207 originally asked for 2 "communication outlets", one in the master and one in either the living room or kitchen. CMP 16 softened this to one comm outlet "within the dwelling" and routed to the Dmark point.
It is unclear how or even if this is terminated and what type of communication it is designed for. I suppose you could just run some bell wire into the first place you could get inside, hanging loose out of the drywall and say you were done. That would run a POTS phone. OTOH I am sure the BICSI member who proposed this was thinking of a data rated CAT6, terminated in a keystone at both ends.
How will you be looking at this?

I look at it as a design issue and not a code issue...it shouldn't be in the code. There are many people who don't have any type of landline communications to their houses, and there is no real reason for this code rule.

It was proposed by a guy in BICSI. This is what happens when you have salesmen on CMPs IMHO.
