Found this guy knocked back into the wall in my living room. It's a Gem Co. "Radio Receptical"! (Patent App'd for - Made in USA) Connected to a K&T ground and antenna wire that goes up into the attic.

The ground wire was cut, and appeared to maybe go to the garage, the antenna wire was a K&T #14 that ran across the attic, that was the antenna

Neat find!! I'm curious about the connections to it. Do the ground and aerial both connect through the same small hole in the front? I wonder how a standard 1/4" audio-type phone plug would fit in there?

Ahh yes. Gem Electric of Hauppauge, NY.

They sure had some whacky looking stuff, even when I was a kid.

I still miss 'em. Company closed down back in 2000 or so.
