This came from a June 3 1930 news paper our safety director found. Notice the 4 didgit phone numbers.

BTW, this is who I work for. [Linked Image]

Hello Randy, like all companies there have been ups and downs, but H&L keeps chugging along.

If you're interested you can see a brief history here. http://www.hayesandlunsford.com/history.html

There's some SSSAWWWEEEET!! conduit work on your company's home page... Would that be your handiwork? [Linked Image] This seems like a VERY good company to work for...You guys have done alot of cool projects as well! Alot of the bigger EC's out here simply see you as an employee number & thats it! Just make us money & don't say anything!

D'oh! [Linked Image] It hadn't registered with me before that this was your company Roger.

I see there are vacancies open. I've been to both Asheville, NC, as you know, and to H&L's other location in Greenville, SC. I like both areas -- I'm tempted! [Linked Image]

By the way, 4-digit local numbers were still common in many British towns right up to the 1980s.

Randy, thank you for the compliment. I can't take credit for that particular job, but we do try to maintain that type of work.

I wish I could say that we are immune to the recession that is upon us, (or was) but we are feeling it. I have been with this company for 15 years and they have been very good to work for.

From the owners down, we try to know each other by first name.

Paul, you know I will do everything I can to get you to Asheville, (Bryson City [Linked Image]) the motor shop has lost the person that did the field services, He moved on and this might fit you. http://www.hayesandlunsford.com/fieldservices.html

Hello Mike, hope all is well, yes we still do complete motor repair, http://www.hayesandlunsford.com/electrepair.html but with more and more industry going to Mexico we are feeling the crunch here too.

I will stop here due to the fact it is becoming a promotion for us, but check out the links. [Linked Image] (inside joke for Bill [Linked Image] goes back a few years)

Roger
