How many of you folks that read this Forum actually get out and have regular exercise?. I run around with the kids I coach as a wicket-keeping coach, I run every morning before work. A certain degree of Occupational Health and Safety is Health, think about that. Your thoughts?

Live healthy die anyway. No, no sports, no specific exercise. I just push myself hard at work, I would be in terrible shape if I had a sit down job. Bob

I think this is more affected by your work style than anything else. If you are just a point and hollar guy, exercise may be a problem but if you are really doing the work, lugging materials up a ladder all day you should stay in pretty good shape. I felt like I was getting plenty of exercise, just climbing up there to inspect the work. (but I did really look at stuff)

sports? definetly,(American) Football in the late summer/fall, Wrestling in the late fall/early winter, lift weights and run with some guys from the Football team the rest of the year, of course I'm still in highschool so it doesn't really count for this thread -Will

My biycycle, Although no Lance Armstrong have been know to ride 40-50 miles on a saturday in the good wheather. Every weekend.

Part of my excercise is basketball. I was playing basketball (a game called lightning) end of January of this year with my son and others less than half my age (12-18 years old), when I went up for a jump shot.
It felt like someone on the way up took an axe to the back of my leg, tore my achilles tendon in two more or less horizontally. I have only been out of a cast for 5 weeks now after surgery and am healing quickly. I am even back to mowing lawn and jumping, though weakly on my bad leg, with physical therapy.
I believe that my healing process is going well and quickly because of excercise before hand (and being blessed). I have yet to get back to running stairs with my youngest son on my shoulders, but that will come shortly. I believe that all will heal well and I will be back for the ballet performances this fall.
Health is important, but like everything it should be balanced with other pursuits. Community service is one that often gets forgotten. Doing things for your neighbors is possibly the best way to improve your mental health.

Bob, Mate a Dutch friend of mine told me a few years ago that his Grandfather died at the age of 58, never smoked, never drank, never ate meat. His wife was the exact opposite, smoked like a train, drank like a fish, and ate everything said to be bad for you. She died at the age of 98 years old. My attitude to life is: A short life, but a happy one.
