I wish all of you guys a happy and safe Guy Fawkes.
I just hope that the extent of the damage caused by fireworks is less than what it was here, last year.
Fire-fighters the country over, absolutely fear this time of the year.
There was a stated case of "Black Saturday" a few years back in Christchurch, where University students, fuelled by alcohol and other drugs, set fireworks off causing millions of dollars worth of damage.
Being a recruit FF at the time in ChCh, I had no sleep at all from 7pm Friday(the 4th) until Sunday 11pm (the 7th).
I'd just like to have all public sales of Fireworks banned.

What a "nice" night I had.
NZ Fire Service Ashburton had 5 call-outs related to fireworks.
That's nothing compared to the 48 calls served by Chch Fire Service.
Uni students again, with thier fireworks.
Thankfully, we don't have sky-rockets here anymore

But here is a lesson,
"Don't light fire-works in Dad's Garage".

Station Officer Phil Kenny, second to the left, saying, where's your back-up or your Hose-Reel?.
I didn't care, Man I was on a roll!, you have them moments when you're a Senior Fire-Fighter!.
Seriously, Eamonn Hooper, the other guy(Also a SFF) in the pic was supposed to bring the Hose-Reel, he was just putting his helmet on, after fitting his BA mask, or so he said.
But WE know!. [Linked Image]
