Worker Killed Putting Up Christmas Lights
Investigators Probing Cause Of Accident

November 25, 2002

WALTHAM, Mass. -- A worker putting up holiday lights on Waltham Common died after the bucket truck he was working in toppled over. Dennis O'Neil, 38, of Tewksbury, Mass., was pronounced dead at the scene Sunday morning. It was unclear what caused the truck to tip over, and local officials as well as the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
O'Neil worked for Brite-Lites, a Weymouth, Mass., company contracted by the city of Waltham to install holiday lights. O'Neil was the father of four children, the youngest born just three weeks ago.
