The Council was set up to: • defend human rights, parliamentary democracy and the rule of law • develop continent-wide agreements to standardise member countries' social and legal practices,
I'm not aware of anything having gone wrong with the Council of Europe? It keeps hitting on governments who violate human rights. A few governments have ended up in its court too many times to count.
