Paul,
I'd have to say I agree with you about pop-up menus on monitors for Brightness, Contrast, etc.
The newer TV's today use a similar system(as I am sure you are aware) for tuning and set-up parameters, which is a great lot of help, because of some bizarre mistake, you've got the thing stuck on Cantonese(Chinese) and can't get it back to English!. [Linked Image]

Funny you should mention that Trumpy, as I just spent a whole afternoon sorting out somebody's TV set-up a couple of days ago.

I'll post a thread about in non-U.S. later.

'Tis a shame one can not cut-and-paste in such a situation. You could pop over to this thread and find the appropriate site for translation [Linked Image]

I have a 17" monitor, my wife has the 19" monitor. Definitely a huge help in reducing scrolling and for being able to cram more junk onto the [Windows] "desktop."

I read once that the LCD monitors are quite popular in Japan, due to cramped office spaces. The prices there are lower, and the prices are expected to drop elsewhere once they catch on more.

Have you checked e-Bay?

Would LCDs be considered less of a health risk compared to the CRTs?

We usually buy moniors by price. We have a couple 15" LCDs and one 17" LCD all under $300.

Our new notebook has a 15" LCD, we opted out of a 16" LCD.

DVDs sure look nice on a 17" LCD monitor.

I use a 19' CRT.
I have 2 or 3 14" SVGAs sitting around. You can have them if you pay shipping.

20 inch Hitachi CRT. Bought at the used computer store for $100 a couple of years ago. Hardly ever have to wear my glasses at that screen.

19" SVGA on my "Main" Machine, 17" on the "Aux." Machine (use the "Aux" Machine for Internet access).
14" SVGA on the Server(s).

Wife's new Machine has 17" SVGA. Her previous Machine has 15" SVGA.

MAchine at Work is 17" SVGA.

P.S. all Monitors are CRT! Would really like to get an LCD Flat Screen for the "Main" Machine, that way it could be pushed back into the corner of the Work Area!

Yeah Scott,
I hear you there.
I would like to get one of them new LCD screens, it's amazing comparing the area taken up by a CRT monitor as opposed to an LCD type!. [Linked Image]

Have you read about the "screen" that is actually a holographic image?
