I am relatively new the the electronics world. I am reading books on it and trying to find how-to classes. I figured for my first project I would try to build an A/B switch. The problem is, I am really confused as to what type of wire I should use and what type of resistors.

The project is really simple and is shown here:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know it shows the spects on the resisters, but I really have no clue as to what I would look for if I were to order them. There are numerous types and links (ie: carbon). Just at a loss, please help. I contacted the guy and he was a pain about it. (How is a newbie ever suppose to get a start?)

Take your shopping list to mouser.com or to the local Radio Shack.
1/4 watt resistors are typical and can be found just about any electronics supply (mouser.com or the local Radio Shack).

Yep, a standard carbon 1/4-watt resistor should be fine here. Watch the packs at Radio Shack though, as they tend to be quite a bit more expensive than elsewhere (at least they are in the Tandy/Radio Shack outlets in the U.K.).

As for the wire on a simple project like this, almost any light-duty equipment wire will do, either fine stranded or a solid core.
