Forwarded from Joe Tedesco: One night the whole 2nd floor lost power. So I started working backwards , it seems some had connencted a 600amp buss downline on a 250amp feed, as you can see the 250 amp is toast..... Joe, I work in an industrial mill , and I take pictures of it all

One thing's for certain, at one point it was glowing. I often....."acquire" old buss bars for radio grounding, I'm not sure I want these.

Glowing indeed! Notice that the failure point appears to be where the busbars were joined?
They would have had to been quite hot for some time to turn yellow like that!
Stupid should be painful.

I have never worked with busses like, how are those bars joined? could a bad/loose connection have aggravated the problem?

Wow, I wonder if an infrared camera would have picked up the problem, before it got to that stage? We do infrared 2x year.
