Looks like this box may not be suitable for use in a place where pigeons are likely to hang out. With all that corrosive pigeons**t....

This is located on a toll booth on the Garden State Parkway. Seems the people who installed the EZ pass automatic toll collection equipment disconnected the electric pigeon chaser system. Star Ledger pix.

Maybe consider changing the NEMA type 1 enclosure to NEMA 4XX?

I'd love to see the UL lab set-up, using "standard" pigeons to roost in the prescribed manner......

Just wait — Someday a creative electrical inspector may want to invoke 99NEC547
(b) Corrosive Atmosphere. Agricultural buildings where a corrosive atmosphere exists. Such buildings include areas:
(1) Where poultry and animal excrement may cause corrosive vapors
(2) Where corrosive particles may combine with water… ;-)

Bjarney,
Those stainless spikes would also stop alot of burgularies when mounted on a window sill as shown on their website. [Linked Image]

Tx — You're right, and we need to plan ahead for excessive bird loitering on window sills.

How does the "Pigeon Deterrent System" work?
We had an oxy-propane "cannon" here at some of the landfills to get rid of the seagulls and crows. They shot off every 90 seconds or so, and worked for about 2 days, 'til the birds got used to it.
about $90,000, of taxpayer money...S

TXs — Wow. That picture looks like a good shot of the flying-cow-on-prunes/nuclear-grade material.
