This House was some sort of a Utility/Bank run test-case 30+ yrs ago. It is a semi-buried house facing some specific direction where each area of the Home was metered for Heating/Cooling kwh used. Some abandoned Solar and other misc technologies all over the place! As you can see from the following photos, it has had different 'Improvements' over the years, many are not good.

Note the old (live) 70A feed that ran the old Electric Heating coil for the Furnace above the paint can.

A Buried box - one of several that were exposed while I was there.

Note the cable above the sheetrock. This project brings Hot-water Baseboard heat to portions of the house. It is an exterior wall with a 2nd floor above. These pipes run like this for about 10 feet. Can you see any 2x4 left? It runs above a doorway and a window too.

Bill,
the first pix looks as if someone back when wanted a neat job done, the other 3 are a mess.

The panel is Federal Pacific Stablok, isn't it? [Linked Image]

It is a Federal Panel, yes. It may be slated for replacement somewhere down the line. The Owner has already heard some comments from others about the reputation of this Panel.

Anyone have any comments on what's left of that wall? (last pic) The 2 x 4's are now 2 x 1s.

Bill,
If that's carrying the 2nd floor, I sure don't think anyone should even be in the place until they get some meat under those floor joists. Not a place for a waterbed!
(what's the load carrying capacity of iron pipe & romex, anyway?) [Linked Image]

I'm not sure what kind of weight it's carrying because there is also a Hallway wall 3 feet to the right, and this is right in the inside angle of a L-shaped house (if you can understand that?). I don't really think about it falling down but this does cross over a doorway and a window which is where I could see problems down the road if some settling occured. The owner is going to try and support it better in some way before closing up the wall.
