Hi there,

I am an Australian trying to do the Ip exam hopefully February/March. Right now I only have the 2002 code...just wondering when the 2006 code might come into effect with the exam?
thanks!

Good question. A friend of mine who will be writing his journeymans exam in March said the 2006 code will affect the exam starting around June/July.

Hello Sparkee,
If you know where you will be challenging the exam it may be best to contact the people administering the exam directly.
I did visit the CSA website and the twentieth edition (2006) codebook is available
Best of luck!!.

Thanks guys!!

I did ask the Ip people via email and they weren't to sure...I can only hope it doesn't change until mid year!

It depends. CSA writes the CEC, but it's up to each province to legislate the adoption of the new CEC. This can take a few months, and varies province to province.

The exam will be on the CEC not the individual provincial code changes i think.
You should go a the Ministry website and call one of the provincial Branch numbers, talk to a counsilor and find out.If they don't give you straight answer ask them if not knowing will compromise exam scores.
