Years ago before GFI receptacles there were razor outlets which I believe were simply 1 to 1 isolation transformers. Is this means of protection still acceptable especially in a circuit which tends to nuisance trip a GFI? In fact is anything permissable in lieu of A GFI?
Anyone know if there are there any GFCI'S available as split receptacles yet? Or will retrofits in kitchens now require installation of ganged GFI's in the panel board? If so, that can get expensive for the owner.
Er, in lieu of split receptacles, CEC allows a 12-2 20 amp t-slot type receptacle on either side of the sink with GFI protection. No need to worry about split receptacle gfi's.
