Please give me your thoughts regarding the use of a rubber cord connected directly the (standby) terminals of a transfer switch (suitable for service equipment) with a male plug attached to the other end of this cord. This cord is also routed trough a section of flexible conduit that is a little shorter in length that the cord so that the plug can be attached to the cord. The electricians reasoning for the flexible conduit is to protect the rubber cord from UV rays. This cord is plugged into a generator that is mounted on a trailer next to the (Fire Station) building for standby purposes or hanging on the building if the generator is relocated. The focus of this question is the rubber cord and assuming all other is compliant.
