here in our area (sc)the '99' code was just adopted in july of this year. ahj had a 10' rule and that was max length of cable not straight line distance. now, if the meter base and the panel arn't back to back then a meter/bkr combo is required. the bkr panel can be mlo. what amazes me is there is only a $10 difference between a mlo and a mb panel. try to purchase a 4 pole 200 amp breaker for $10. ken m
