... Well, thanx to 8 straight days of rain,my basement/shop flooded. The culprit was a faulty float switch on the sump pump..
I lost a few replaceable items,..though,I'm dubious about using my coils of 12-2 alum BX,..the paper inside is certainly sopping,as it acts like a wick,..should I be concerned??.. I replaced the float switch, and the water table is still high,it keeps the sump jogging on and off frequently..I don't own the house, but I did the repairs because my landlord is nice enough to allow me to use the basement as my shop.. In a way,I guess it was a God send,..I get to clean out the basement now,and get rid of alot of unwanted detritus... was way worse back when Hurricane Floyd hit a while back,..took in 28" of water,..old abandoned refrigerator top-ended and was floating around..time to add more shelves and wooden pallets..
