NEW BATTERY TECHNOLOGY FROM MILWAUKEE

Want more power, less weight and longer run time? Milwaukee
says they have the answer in their new V28 tool line. Yep,
that's right, the V28 stands for 28 volt. How can that by
lighter? Milwaukee has found a way to use the battery
technology in your cell phone (lithium ion) in their tools.
They compare the new line of tools to existing 18 volt tools
in size and weight. But they promise twice the run time and
double the torque.

The tools aren't on the market for another two weeks, so
put away your credit cards. But credit cards may be required.
This new technology is expected to cost about 40% more than
a standard 18 volt tool as well. The first tools in the
line include a portable band saw, drill/driver, circular saw,
reciprocating saw and standard drill/driver. More tools are
already under development.

While this news is pretty great, our personal wish is for
this technology to trickle down to the 12 volt platform.
How does 18 volt performance in a tool that weighs as much
as a 7.2 volt tool sound? Good to us, too!
