I need to install a 125 amp subpanel for my shop. I've got a choice - conduit and #1 THHN or 1/0 SER.

Which is going to be an easier install?

There will be (4) 90 degree bends and, if I'm smart about it, no other jogs required . If I go conduit, I know 360+ degrees means a pull point, although I think I'd put one in at the end of the long run because it'd make the pulling easier.

My guess is that the conduit is fussier in the beginning, but #1 copper would be a chunk easier to work with inside the panels than 1/0 aluminum.

What's the experience of you pros?

Thx - Rob
