At our webmasters suggestion, I changed my java settings back to the high (recommended) default setting this morning and things are working with that one as well.
Thanks for the confirmation. I did disable the chatroom counter, at least for the time being, so it woudn't drive anyone away.
Maybe a future java update will lower the default security settings back to where they were.
