The Great White North, Yukon and Alaska -- Siberia, too -- are largely restricted to long-days and good-weather -- mostly.
With the obvious exception of the oil drilling business, late Fall through early Spring are entirely inactive for tourists, placer mining, forestry and much else.
When the Sun does break out, it stays out. So much so, that anyone out in the sticks can draw PV juice most of the time they're awake.
Yet, from the TV shows, everyone is trucking in fuel from thousands of miles away. I've read that such juice is costing over $ 1.25/kWHr.
I'm putting this to our northern crowd....
