The city is constructing a Water park. This is a large concrete slab with various water jets, sprays, and nozzles that are user operated. The water supply is pump fed and recycled. It is used by kids to soak each other as a super water fight. Lots of fun in the hot summer.
I have seen only one in service in Kitchner, Ontario, Canada.
Water depth is never more than a few inches.
The problem I get is that this kind of facility is not directly covered by the NEC in 680.
It is more than a fountain because people are in the water but, it is less than a swimming pool because there is no standing water. This seems to be a grey area. (Note: the recycled water is filtered
)
We are bonding all of the rebar and steel mesh in the concrete together and taking it to the seperate pump house, where all the pumps are also bonded to the common grid.
The equipment is shipped from Canada, and has bonding lugs at each of the sprayers. Some of these will shoot a stream of water 40 feet.
Has anyone had any experience with this kind of installation ?
Any special problems to watch for ?
