But he has it taped up with green tape, so that should have it grounded good enough.... grin

Also it is a tamper resistant receptacle.

That's a specification grade quality job....

=========

Even as a temp power patch it makes zero sense.

Why not patch in after a 15Amp 120 C/B?

Why not patch in a GFCI receptacle?

Why not just run an extension cord -- for there has to be some receptacle within range.

How does one explain the break-in to the meter pan to the meter reader?

Why give up a clean path to the GEC?

This was found by a POCO troubleshooter who noticed the center cover off of the two meter pan. One of the meters was booted, and apparently someone needed 120 volt!

If he had put this in a Bell box, piped out of that top hub KO, with a GFCI and an in use cover it may have survived for years.

Hmmm, maybe there's a grow house nearby?

It may have survived...until either the meter guy, or a POCO 'drive by'!! They allow nothing from the meter pans/stacks.

The booted meter tenant is facing a theft of services charge. They pulled one leg boot off the meter for 1 hot leg in the apt.

John,

I noticed that he cut open the center panel. Those old PSE&G locks were very difficult to break open.
