Ospray Nest

We have been watching a pair of osprays build this nest. Last week the PoCo changed the wires.

The birds are protected and it is illegel to disturb the nest. Rod

Yikes, I can see that nest's location becoming a problem very quickly if it gets wet enough during a rainstorm. There's a run of power lines near my house that have these looped things on the wood support arms that I think were put there to prevent nest building between the line insulatores.

They are all over around here and the PoCo has wire porcupines on the poles so they won't get too comfortable.
