Editing our Homepage #2:
Adding Pictures to make things more
interesting and simple Text formatting.
- First We login and select options to
edit our Homepage (Forget
How?)
( If you want to see where We're at right now click Here
)
(This is the Picture supplied with the
Template that We want to change)

- To change the picture We click on the
little
Button to the right of our Template photo
The following selections will come up:

We choose the second choice, to Upload an Image from our Hard Drive.
Our Picture will be copied from our Computer to the Website
Directory
so that others can see it on our HomePage.
Notice the Advanced options where you can put a border around
the image
or set a Width and Height for the Image.
Note: - It is better to
size an image with a separate editing program if you
are making it smaller because the file size will also become
smaller. If you use
these sizing tools here and notice that the page loads slowly it may
be because
of a large Picture file size. You can then make the necessary
changes.
We click on the Browse button. (see Above)

- We then find the file on our Computer
and press enter (or click on the Open button)
We're back to the previous page and We notice the file name is now
in the box.
Scroll down and press the Update button.

- Now, We click on the
button to change our Caption and then for the Description beneath
it.
Then We go down the page and edit the Template items or erase them
as We wish.
- For the next Heading down We choose to
say "Our Services Include:" and then underneath (in
the next text box) We want to list them.
To make it stand out a little We want to list them in Bold
letters. If you read the instructions to the right of the box where
you type in your text that you want displayed you see that you may
enter HTML Codes. These are nothing more than formatting codes that
Browsers (the programs people use to see your Website) understand.
It's not necessary to know a lot of programming to use HTML Code.
When used in this way they are commonly called 'Tags' They come in
Beginning and Ending types, this is so that the program knows to
make what's between Bold or Italics or whatever. The
HTML Tags for Bold are <b> (Beginning) and
</b> (Ending) - the difference is the /. So in our example
here We put our Service types between these tags.
<b>New Work</b>
<b>Renovations</b>
<b>Repairs</b>
<b>Emergency Service</b> |
List
of some Common HTML Tags |
<i>No Job too Small!</i> |
(and
underneath We'll throw in some Italics with the <i>
</i> Tags) |
- How about a picture with a Hyperlink?
We'll click on a picture
button and find our ECN Logo on our computer and put the Website
Address in the box where it says "Link this Image to"
And We click on the Update button on the bottom of page

* this is the same form as We used before for the other picture See:
Above
* Always remember to Save to make your changes permanent. (Top
Left Corner)
